Eswatini missions commonly require the passport to be valid at least 30 days beyond the end of stay, but many official and partner sources recommend 3–6 months validity to avoid issues, especially when transiting South Africa. Passport must contain at least two unused pages for entry/departure endorsements as per Eswatini visa guidelines. Ordinary-passport applicants are generally required to provide either an invitation letter from a host in Eswatini or confirmed hotel/accommodation bookings plus itinerary. Business visitors typically need an invitation letter from the company or organization being visited, on official letterhead, stating purpose and duration of visit.

Eswatini visa guidelines require applicants traveling by air to have a return or onward ticket or to lodge a cash deposit equivalent to such a ticket. For eVisa applications, a copy of the flight booking or e-ticket is explicitly listed as a required document.

Eswatini’s official visa guidelines require proof of financial means, typically in the form of recent bank statements, salary advices, undertakings by host, bursaries, medical cover, or evidence of cash/credit cards. Some embassies specify two to three months of bank statements; where not specified, three months is a conservative standard.

Some Eswatini embassies request a valid national identity card copy in addition to the passport, especially for ordinary-passport applicants. Requirement may be waived if the applicant’s country does not issue national ID cards.

Some Eswatini missions request certified copies of ID, birth and marriage certificates (where applicable) to support visa applications, particularly when assessing family ties or sponsorship.
